Marshmallow.

Now that I found my mojo for blogging, here's what I've been up to in photos format;)
Christmas Dinner @ Revolving Restaurant

The buffet spread was definitely not worthy of the price but then again, it was still pretty alright. What I love though, was its ambiance and what a delightful touch they have by preparing the party packs complete with the crackers/hats/masks and all. Feels fun being a child once again!
And the Mac N Cheese was superb!Love it ;)

::++::

Congratulatory Lunch @ Blue Reef

This was a lunch promised to the little one who gotten straight As for her PMR. And I love this place for its very cosy ambiance with great food and absolutely reasonable western set meal.
And their soup with garlic bread was heavenly!

::++::

Dinner @ Paddington House of Pancakes

It has been awhile since I went back to PHOP. And the Boyfriend has not quite gotten the chance to taste their food and we decided that we shall do so as also, a congratulatory dinner for the Boyfriend's excellent results for his MBA term examinations.
I love the idea of how they incorporate all their fancy pancakes into each main meal which was tasty ;) And they really do own a hugeee range of pancakes with names like crepe/pannekoek/gallette etc.
No man can deny a girl of her dessert :D

Truckload.

This has been long overdued. And I finally managed to brush away my laziness and procrastination.
Christmas was awesomeee and I had a great time. Hope you enjoyed yours as much as I did!
::++::
Birthday Celeb- His

We celebrated the Boyfriend's birthday just a few hours after I got back to Penang from KL. I had to drive my car back and it was pretty tiring. Nevertheless, I managed to get back earlier than my intended time.

He was whisked off to one of my favourite hotels in town ;E&O Hotel. I adore its classic and very Victorian era touch to the whole architecture and we had the Wine & Dine buffet at Sarkies Corner at the hotel.

The buffet spread was amazinggg and he loved every bit of it which was a hugeee relief as I had to really think on where to bring him for his birthday dinner while preparing for EOS5 back then. We enjoyed ourselves so much so that for Christmas, we had another buffet ( don't judge :D) and it was nothing compared to Sarkies and the funny thing is that we used to love that place!

::++::
Birthday Celeb- Hers

The Boyfriend had it all mapped out i.e. his ways of how to surprise me ;) And I must say he did a fantastic job at that. I had two literally be blindfolded and when I got the permission to open my eyes, we were at D'View at Equatorial Hotel. And all those bits of information that he asked like, do you prefer sky or sea type of question all began to fell into place.
A wonderful fine dining restaurant with excellent ambiance and top notch service and of course, the yummy five course meal ;) We had sort of like a personal butler to ourselves and it was amazing really. And it was a semi-buffet for the appetizers and desserts so that is spot-on for me !
What takes the cake is the surprise at the end of it all when the waitors brought out a cake complete with the tune of Happy Birthday being sung perfectly in French ( fyi: it's a French restaurant) !
It was such a fantastic night and thanks to the Boyfriend who painstakingly made all the prior arrangements!

::++::
On a side note, I've always wondered how does it feel to be legally an adult and to have hit the age where all teenagers dream to be! And honestly, it feels the same actually but presents are usually bigger when you hit twenty.one ;)
And thanks for all the birthday wishes peeps!

Tis The Season!

Wheeee! Christmas will be happening in less than 12 hours ;) And seriously, time flies.
I have been really tied up with many relevant and irrelevant matters and finally, I've only embraced the holiday spirit. And it feels great. 2009 has never been better!

I just realised that I never quite got the chance to say this and here goes; to the wonderful friends that I've come to known throughout the 2.5 years in IMU, thank you for all the crazy antics, shopping trips and loadddss of good food! You all have been amazing really ;)

++::++::

On a side note, the little one has gotten her PMR results today and she has done very well!

Congrats Wendy and am proud of you ;)

Psst: Here goes my cash :D

::++::

And have a wonderful Christmas and
may He be the reason for this season for all of you!
Cheers!

Happenings.

I'm backkk ! And I kind of forgot that I had (scratch that) have a blog!
And life has been great so far. I dare say I utilized each day pretty fully and I'm so busy these days that I am currently down with the flu.
I have loads of pictures sitting pretty in my folders but am too lazy to upload em now.
So I thought I'll proudly showcase what I've been up to with my lomo camera courtesy of the Boyfriend ;)

I loveee the vintage vibe only which, the lomo can produce. Will certainly be experimenting more with it.

Till then,
Happy Holidays peeps!

Familiarity

It all sounded too familiar. As I sat down in one of the plushy and comfy sofa in Starbucks having just ordered their Christmas special; Toffee Nut Latte, I recalled having this exact same latte a year back. And like all how an old man goes on to repeatedly mention, how time seriously flies. Aptly true indeed.
The whole Christmas vibe is just not quite there yet for me. Perhaps, it's just me. I've probably seen tens of Christmas trees all set up, standing dandy in the malls this week with Christmas Carols played softly in almost all stores, but yet, the Christmas factor hasn't quite sunk in for me.
And on a side note, I'm darn excited to be heading to BKK realllyy soon; one day to be exact! I'm expecting nothing short of a shopping paradise and I could sense the Boyfriend is a tad worried about my spending there. We shall see ;)
I'm now a proud owner of a digital lomo camera courtesy of the Boyfriend ;) I loveeee the artsy and whole vintage vibe to the pictures!

This is Life !

I know this is a tad too late for this but still, wooohooo! Goodbye to late nights filled with steaming hot cup of coffee keeping you company alongside with the piled up stacks of books/notes. Well, I hope so ;)

::++::

And on a happy note, my most fantastic weekend started right away after our last session for OSCE and my family and I were off right away to Malacca ! Yes we are pretty darn random at times ;)

Grandma strutting it ala Hollywood style ;)

Spotted:Eye of Malaysia

It was such a fruitful trip ( as in the amount of food we ate) and a wonderful bonding time in which, was pretty absent for quite a bit. First off, we headed to Jonker's Walk and I've always loved that place. I love the quaint, structured shops with wonderful clear blue skies. I must say, Malacca's skies are one of the best indeed- veryyyy pretty amidst the fluffy white clouds. By now, I'm sure most of you know I seriously have a thing for the sky ;)

We had the much talked about Chicken Rice balls ,despite trying em for twice now, I still do not quite fancy em. Maybe the ones I had were well, blehh ;p

Next up was my most loved Gula Malacca laden cendol to perfection and the must-eat Nyonya Asam Laksa in which, my sister quickly gobbled it up. She said that's the best laksa she has ever eaten despite coming from Penang where we are pretty much Queen of Laksa -.-

<3

We had Satay Celup next! And this is my mum's favourite.

And before we head back to KL, we swung by Bibik Neo where we always do whenever we are down in Malacca for its very lovely Nyonya food. To date, I think this is the most we've ever eaten as a family which I managed to convinced em to do so. Otherwise, what's the fun in road tripping right? ;)

PS: I had the best birthday celeb in my 21 years of life ;)
More on that later!

Gravitation.

I'm trying not to rant about my upcoming final in 2 days time! And yes, time flies and from time to time again, I'm reminded of this truth. Like what people always say, the truth is ugly and probably wicked in its own right.
Just got back home after a long day in IMU starting with last minute preps for CSU/MMS sessions. Blame it on the time really for such short notice to do all we can and cramp a gazillion bandwidth into our tiny brain cells :(
Oh well, this can't be a happy-sappy post from a majorly sulky person with extremely congested brain cells can it?
I hate how hypocrites are. And sometimes, I also hate to say that I do fall into that category. A part of me can't wait for EOS to begin (not that I'm well prepared-just want to get it done with!) and another part of me just wished that EOS will come in another year's time.
You know your life's messed up if you eating breakfast as lunch and lunch as dinner.
You also know that your life is as insane as your stress levels when you live through everyday without knowing the dates.
And when reading newspapers become a luxury and same goes for catching up with someone else' life.
Thanks for reading this post and entertaining my rantings.
You know you're loved! :)

Lost and Found!

Popped by Zouk @KL this afternoon for a quick retail therapy for the lost soul whose brain is absolutely filled with things like RCC/UTI/TCC and the likes. What a bore I know !

Anyways, thank goodness this time around, I took the highway to get there and thus, saved myself from all the massive jam in the city centre unlike the last time! And we got there within 15 minutes actually and it was time for shopping ;)
I would say the first installment of Chicpop was definitely wayyy better and vendors were actually packing at 5-ish although the time stated for the bazaar was supposed to be till 7pm! I did not find any good buys but managed to get a nice item for the boyfriend ;)

The turnout at Chicpop in which I thought, compared to the first installment, this time around the turnout was better.

Met Jing there as always ;) And she was definitely well armed with de facto shopping bags!

It was a good break to take one's mind away from the mundane albeit very stressful studying routine as EOS5 is damn near !

And to all fellow M207-ians,

ALL THE BEST

and it has been a very interesting and fruitful two and a half years together !

;)

mechanical wiring

It took me this long to realised that somehow, somewhere in each of us, we are so mechanically wired either for the better or for worse. And it's darn hard to break free of this control.
On a side note,

I've been filling up the airwaves in my room with Bunkface's-Through My Window. I was so surprised to know that this amazingg song which is very Sum 41/Blink 182-ish is actually by our very own local band! So much raw talent ;)

*too lazy to post up the video; sorry!*

And will be heading to Chicpop tomorrow at Zouk after toying with the idea for umpteen times!Lets just hope my cortisol levels don't perk high enough for me to overspend :D

I just want one thing- and that's everything.

Liberty

Or maybe not!

One hurdle down but umpteen hurdles more to go -.-
Summatives was finally over and I could breathe a sigh of relieve for a good half a day afterwhich I decided to warrant a release form for myself and head to Mid Valley spontaneously with SauLee ;)
Feels good to feel like at least you have a life and to be spontaneous again.
We were pretty much starved when we got there and decided to eat first. We tried a new Italian fast food concept outlet which serves affordable Italian set meals i.e. any spag of your choice/drink/soup for RM 12 ! That's a steal isn't it? ;)

SauLee's bolognese

My Carbonara- as always ;)

However, the bad news is the food was just mediocre with nothing to boast but then again, no complains for RM12 :)

And trouble brews when I step in Zara/Topshop and I'm left to save myself and possibly my cash as well but oh well, I would say I did a pretty good job refraining myself from what others would term as unnecessary purchases * with particular reference to the Boyfriend*

We decided that the true way to really relax our minds is to catch a movie and so we did! We picked the Time traveller's wife and I loveee the movie. Really do. It was such a intriguing show with very confused timeline but the main actor/actress were very good looking- plus points!

So, in the mean time I guess it will be back to those mundane/boring routine of mugging!

Hope.

This is it.

The first leg of many more tumultuous events waiting to unfold but hey, let's look at the bright side ;) Or at least, I'm convincing myself. Don't worry, this is not a thought insertion as per in schizophrenia.

Liberty waiting to be redeemed post exams is the only thing keeping me sane right now.

Anyways,

ALLTHEVERYBEST in our Summatives/EOS5 M207!

Let's take em down one by one ;)

burp.

Wheeee! Looking forward to this weekend.. oh wait! The boyfriend is actually here in KL already ;)

Had an extremely lengthy day yesterday as it was mock osce slash pbl session. I'm sooo relieved that mock osce is finally done with and at last, I can get back to my revision!

Picked up the boyfriend last night after he arrived around 11pm and we headed to Murni's ;) Thank God that I did not have any dinner before that and was able to pollished off half a plate of mee raja and half of roti dragon at 12/1-ish am! :D

Feels delightful to be fat!

::++::
Today, for lunch, we wanted to reward ourselves and decided to finally try Food Foundry located at Sec 17, PJ. I've been wanting to try the food here for the longest time everrr and finally managed to do so today :D

The not-so-original-menu ala The Apartment style

Loveeee this shot though I looked incredibly stoned!

Lovely cutesy plus kitschy drawings of all things fun!

The Boy ;)

Yes he was that excited -.-

His nasilemakwithrendang which was superb by the way.

My Smoked Salmon with cream sauce; too salty and very disappointing!

This is the main reason why we went there! Their much said Mille Crepe which was awesomeee! I'm always intrigued by all these layers after layers of pastries in which, they all ultimately end up in my gastrointestinaltract.

My favourite shot of us most definitely ;)
Things are looking good now!

clueless.

Wow! Last time I checked, I wasn't very keen on blogging anymore. Am back in KL after a nice 5 days break from my usual mundane routine. I guess, I shouldn't consider that short, fun trip home a break should I ? This is considering the fact that I have tonnes to read up on and on top of that, mock ocse is heading my way this thursday which is a day away precisely and am burdened with IMS and all those whatnots.

Oh boy! I've never felt so stretched before and to top it off, I am sick currently and that doesn't make things easier. Pftttt.

Remind me again, why am I doing Medicine?

Sunday, October 11, 2009

ChicPop and whatnots.

Am finally breathing -at least for now ;) Thought it is high time that the dozens of pictures that have been sitting idle in my laptop to be uploaded now!

So here goes another filler post with tonnes of pictures ;)

#1
Chic Pop Street Market, Zouk KL

Love this picture ;)

Met Jing there :D

This is what you do when you are caught in a realllyyy baddddd jammmm *note the repeated letters: it was that bad!

Love, love, loveee the setting of this bazaar as it was held in Zouk,KL. It does wonders in terms of ambiance and yes, I guess it helped to splurge more on items which you don't really need. Read: Impulse buys!

Nevertheless, love the whole vintage/junkyard sale vibe and twas fun for sure. Just perhaps, minus the longgg stretch of bottle-neck jam that we got ourselves into. If only I had used the highway. Damn!

Hann being cautious about her then about-to-be-eaten Chicken Burger

#2
Hard Rock Hotel, Batu Ferringhi

Absolutely adore this lighting effect- love how they used the lights to form words.

They have tonnes of rockstar statues and their items on display and it was like a music tour round the museum of some sort. I guess they are huge fans of The Beatles as they have mosaic walls/potraits/more walls of em!

The boyfriend was thrilled to see a couple of MJ's items on display as well ;) Initially, I was afraid that we might never quite get to go home -.- Luckily a lecture on MJ was spared! Thankgoodness.

I'm on the other hand a hugeee Jon Bon Jovi fan. HUGE FAN INDEED :D I was thrilled to have seen the much said Ricky Samoca acoustic guitar on display! And yes, his leather jacket was on display too.

Music's the medicine of the mind. ~John A. Logan

Freak Show

Weekends have once again, whizzed by in a blink of an eye! However this week, I'm not going to complain too much as first off, lectures are off tomorrow morning which translate to no need to get up at an ungodly time ;) and plus, i'll be heading home to Penang this thursday noon.
Looking forward to a good week!

I just realised that, despite how great we advance as a country or having impressive policies on how to run a country effectively, we as humans still pretty much fail to see way beyond ourselves or our race.
I stumbled upon this very interesting piece of news which was pretty recent by the way about how a 'Chinese' girl who is born black!

Her mother is a Chinese and her Dad is an African. In fact, the juicy details were just about to be spilled; her mother had an extra-marital affair with the African guy while she was still married to her Chinese husband!
Little did I know, Chinese ladies have definitely been exposed to Western cultures and perhaps, even embracing em already.

Below is an excerpt from the article :

Lou Jing, whose mother is Chinese mother and father who is a black American, has unleashed the hottest debate on race and colour in the country.

Most of the reactions have been negative but a few have been downright nasty and vile.
Among the ugly labels that have been pinned on the 20-year old student who took part in the Go! Oriental Angel reality talent show is: "black chimpanzee."
Many have also have refused to accept her as a Chinese although she was born in the country to a Shanghainese mother and raised by her.

*taken from source

We may have the world under our feet but if we cannot see beyond race/ethnicty- I supposed, we've never really gone anywhere.

Have we?

tired.

Just got back and had a very lengthy CSU session today. For some reason, I'm feeling dead tired today. And perhaps, whole of last week too!
And oh well, when you are drained out and nothing major to blog about, you always show pictures of food right? ;)
At least this keeps me awake for now.

This is what I'm craving for most now! Whoever who will be heading to KL from Penang *points to the boyfriend*, pleaseeeee pack this for me okay? ;)

Filipino food! Not very commonly found and it's superbbb :D Well worth the cash I say.

Ilovethistobits ;) Everytime when I'm back in Pg, this is the must have for me.. otherwise, the trip ain't complete.

CharKoayTeow.Necessity- aye to that!
::++::
And now, time for some fun facts!
Q: Which is of the lot is your favourite dish?
A: All of em *cheating glare*

Q: How many of the dishes were yours?
A: Erm.. almost all of em except for the Filipino food *shifty eyes*
Q: OMGGGG! *killer stare*
A: Yes I know I eat like a pig! But oh well, at least I have the boyfriend to eat whatever I can't polish off :D

:D

Big 3 !

This blog is officially dead. Reason being, I'm too lazy to look through dozens of my pictures folder as they are wayy too many and secondly, there are just too many things to blog about.
Nevertheless, though it has been exactly one week past our hugeee 3rd anniversary, I supposed it's better late than never right! ;)

::++::

It's really hilarious in a way when I sat down and recalled how we first started our journey as a couple. His method is very different from the usual cliche ways of those that we usually see in dramas.

Our very first 'date' was supposed to be him asking me mathematical related questions ! and at that time, I was still doing my A-levels and he was already majoring in Engineering. Looking back, I must have been a great fool to accept that particular excuse to hang out.
Nevertheless, I will be an even greater fool if I didn't ;)

And from those small 'dates', we progressed to the big screen ones. We met up for movies and dinners/lunches and ate our hearts out and I mean literally. Every opportunity for us to get together was never bypassed, and thus, this gave way to us embarking a relationship which we proudly associate ourselves with today.
Looking back all these years, if you asked me, what's the greatest thing you've learned from your the other half?
The very first answer you will get from me is to love and give whole-heartedly.
:)

For our big 3, we had a very lovely dinner at Tarbush, Batu Ferringhi. And I must say, we both love the exquisite and very different type of food and cuisine from the overpopularized Western course meals ;)

The very well-dressed boy ;)

I adoreee the atmosphere and as most of you know, that is a hugee factor for me. Oh well, the food was great and perfect to taste.

Hummus ;) and it's weird that hummus in BM is baja/soil -.-
This was my absolute favourite appetiser!

Hers; absolutely love this dish!
The portion was really hugee and it scared me for a bit then but I managed to polished it off with a little help from the boyfriend!

The boyfriend's Grilled Spring Chicken ;) It was veryy tasty as well.

Caramel Cream Pudding ; loveeee!
The best pudding ever I've ever tasted and loving the sweet touch added by the caramel.

Arabica Coffee

Iced Chocolate
It's certainly death by the Iced Chocolate ;)

A really pleasant surprise as I did not expect much of a more western type of drink in a Middle Eastern Restaurant but they definitely give Starbucks a run for the money.

Thanks for all the wonderful 3 years ;) Cheers to many more years ahead!
Ily.

Rising Sun

Yes.. I'm still alive if that's what you're wondering after the missing status of updates.

Having a blast soaking up the sun and fun back in Penang and from time to time again, I'm always reminded that home is where the heart is ;)

A couple more days left before the per usual hectic mode is reactivated. Leaving that stray thought aside for now first and food is AWESOMEEEE as always!

Much love;)

090909

When I woke up this morning, I mentally made a note (yes.. amidst my sleepiness) to greet myself a happy 090909!

I guess today is one of the rare occasions where numbers are specially alligned for all that blast and somewhere along those lines.

Happy 090909!

PS: If you were wondering is this even a post, you're right- I just had to scribble something today! :D
